CEU Value: 0.7

This one day course gives the participants the basic knowledge of using MBR's for the treatment of wastewater and is designed for operators and managers in the wastewater industry. Some areas that will be covered are the use of hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes to treat wastewater. This course is designed to give an understanding of the benefits of membrane use in wastewater.

Enabling Objectives: Describe the membrane bioreactor (MBR) in the wastewater treatment process

Describe the membranes used in wastewater treatment

Describe the advantages and limitations of MBR systems

                                  Explain the biological nutrient process

Understand the strategies to correct MBR problems
