This one-day course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the chemicals and equipment used for watermain disinfection. Topics include types of chlorine used for disinfection, how disinfection works, break-point chlorination, chlorine residual testing, watermain disinfection, continuous feed and slug methods, as well as disposal of chlorinated waste. Course objective includes the understanding of the MOECC and AWWA new procedures for disinfection of watermains. (2015)
