This half day course updates the knowledge and skills of water and wastewater operators who deal with hazardous substances in the workplace.

Topics include: Hazardous materials management, Health and Safety and WHMIS. Upon successful completion of this course the participant will:

• Recognize the hazards associated with chemicals used in the water and wastewater fields.
• Have a basic understanding of the safe handling of those chemicals and the use of personal protective equipment.
• Understand the requirements of provincial and federal legislation regarding the use of chemicals in the workplace.
