New Watermain Installation

This one-day course is designed to provide an understanding of the installation of new watermains to include: types of piping, pipe selection, system design, safe excavation, pipe fittings installation, flushing & swabbing, chlorination and de-chlorination, pressure testing & methods for sampling, and the importance of good documentation. Students will participate in the writing of a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the installation of new watermains. Participants will also learn how to use chlorination/de-chlorination equipment.
